Dan Shmilovich has been the Executive Director of the Institute for Law and Economic Policy (ILEP) since 2006.

ILEP, a think tank that develops policy positions on selected issues involving the administration of justice within the American legal system related to investor and consumer rights. Each year ILEP publishes the papers presented at its annual symposium in prominent law reviews such as the Columbia Law Review, Duke Law Journal, Hastings Law Journal, and the Vanderbilt Law Review. ILEP studies have been used to refine and reform complex litigation and have been cited in numerous precedent-setting decisions.

Additional Experience

Since 2004, Dan has managed Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd’s (RGRD) Pennsylvania office, and works in institutional investor relations and outreach. RGRD is the most successful plaintiffs’ securities law firm in the United States. Robbins Geller attorneys have helped shape the securities laws and have recovered tens of billions of dollars on behalf of aggrieved victims.

The Firm’s record of success includes some of the largest recoveries in history such as the largest consumer class action recovery: $17+billion (Volswagen), the largest securities class action recovery: $7.2 billion (Enron) and the largest securities class action recovery following a trial: $1.575 billion (HSBC/Household Int’l) to name a few.

Personal

Dan was born in Petach Tikvah, Israel and grew up in Philadelphia, PA. He and his wife Erica (a psychotherapist) reside in Rydal, PA with their two young children.

Dan was the President of the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) at Early Learning at Beth Sholom (2015 – 2019). He has been a Board Member of the Rydal-Meadowbrook Civic Association (RMCA) since 2018 and a Board Member of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park, PA since 2019.
